Alternate Realities

Sometimes, I’ll shoot something that is ok, but is somehow lacking that “it” quality.  I recently shot at a sketching class where my friend Azmyth was posing.  For me it was just another exercise to challenge my knowledge and skills, and although I got some interesting images, I got nothing memorable.  I forgot about that shoot until I returned from my latest visit to the Mojave, and was processing some images from an abandoned motel I visited. For some reason, it reminded me of my recent images of Azmyth.

I like the room by itself, actually, but have started to think of some of these captures as possible backgrounds for other uses.  This is such a case. Azmyth’s pose, mood, and prop seem to have been designed for this room, and putting him into this location made all the difference.
