The Blues

A part of every creative person’s process is the emotional let-down we experience after we finish a project.  This post-partum “blues” has been a part of my psyche from the time I was a child, when I’d mope around the house after having participated in some fun and creative project with my friends, family, or classmates.

Since nothing I’ve ever tried – other than jumping straight into the next thing – has prevented its occurrence, I have worked out ways of waiting it out.  Sometimes it’s nothing more than giving myself a manicure.  Other times, like now, I just latch onto the first idea that comes into my mind, no matter how strange it may seem.  The idea this time was to photograph bouncing and blurry blueberries.  It seemed oddly fitting.
